This vacancy is for a GS-0801-14, Lead General Engineer - Planner located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, LIFECYCLE ASSET PRGM MGMT DIVISION (CG-SHORE-E2) in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an Lead General Engineer - Planner and be responsible for serving as a team/project leader for a variety of engineering and planning assignments involving architectural, civil, industrial, mechanical, environmental, electrical, urban planning, space planning and systems engineering disciplines..
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Reviews engineering designs, specifications, and contractor work to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
- →Reviews project activities and planning efforts to identify delays, improve coordination, and ensure quality and efficiency.
- →Coordinates planning activities and reviews engineering constraints, operational requirements, and project assumptions to support project development and execution.
- →Evaluates engineering, real property, and shore infrastructure requirements and prepares reports, cost estimates, schedules, and project documentation.
- →Develops and reviews engineering policies, standards, procedures, and technical guidance to support mission and operational requirements.
- →Provides technical guidance and recommendations to project teams, contractors, and leadership on complex engineering and planning issues.
- →Leads and coordinates engineering and infrastructure projects using engineering principles and project management methods.
