LOCATION: This position is located in the Central Processing (CP), Head of Earnings in the Wilkes Barre Direct Operations Center (WBDOC) at 1150 East Mountain Blvd. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. TOUR OF DUTY: Multiple work schedules (up to 40 hours) | Alternate work schedules may be available. TYPE OF POSITION: Temporary, not to exceed (NTE) 1 year; may be extended. This position will not become permanent.
What You'll Do
- →Lead Benefits & Records Technicians assist the unit supervisor in the assigning of workloads and maintaining constant awareness of the status and progress of work.
- →Immediately informs supervisor of any sudden or critical change in workloads such as substantial increase in receipts, etc.
- →Makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established and/or constantly changing priorities.
- →Responsibilities: Assists supervisor by assigning workloads, tracking progress, reporting major changes, and adjusting assignments as priorities shift.
- →Assists the unit supervisor by providing guidance to Benefits and Records Technicians engaged in the processing of various source documents regarding benefit and earnings data.
- →Reviews work for accuracy and compliance with procedures, spot checks progress, advises staff on inconsistencies, and recommends training to supervisor when error trends are identified.
- →Conducts formal classroom and/or on-the-job training for new and/or experienced personnel.
- →Recommends revision or additions to the training program.
- →Consults with appropriate personnel on the most complex problems and/or cases that cannot be resolved using or adapting existing procedures or experience and relays pertinent information back to unit employees.
- →Stays updated on program changes via meetings or issuances, collaborates with staff to resolve procedural differences, and regularly communicates significant updates to all relevant unit personnel.
- →Prepares and submits reports and recommendations to unit supervisor concerning performance, training needs, promotions, informal complaints, and needs of the unit employees.
- →Maintains daily work and backlog records, enters data electronically, and promptly forwards reports to relevant components.
- →Conducts or participates in special studies, surveys, and procedural or operational analyses initiated at the unit, section, branch, etc., level.
- →Includes reviewing drafts of new procedure.
