About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Administration of the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan. This position serves as information technology (IT) Specialist (Systems Administration) within a Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) to support IT systems and services by serving as the System Administrator/Technician for all IT Department systems, pharmaceutical software, and automated/robotic systems at the MTF and its Branch Medical Clinics.
What You'll Do
- →This position services the System Administrator/Technician for Information Technology Department (ITD) systems, pharmaceutical software, and automated/robotic systems in the miliary treatment facilities (MTF) and its Branch Medical Clinics.
- →Lead IT specialist for all pharmacy-related IT systems and upgrades, ensuring optimal performance, security, and integration with the broader MTF IT infrastructure.
- →Work closely with hospital IT staff, DHA offices, vendors, and contractors to integrate all infrastructure projects into the overall MTF and DHA enclave network, guaranteeing reliable and secure customer access to systems and communications.
- →Perform a variety of complex system software, hardware, information technology, and information assurance tasks involving the integration of electronic processes and methodologies to resolve intricate system and technology interface problems.
- →Install, configure, test, and maintain new and existing devices for the MTF Pharmacy and its associated subordinate clinics, ensuring compliance with established security protocols.
- →Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to implement and maintain security best practices for pharmacy systems.
- →Gather and analyze data on clinical device uptimes, downtimes, and other systematic and network data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.
- →Provide system maintenance and administration, basic user training, and overall system configuration and compatibility support in the areas of pharmacy information systems and integrated pharmacy automation systems and software.
