About the Role

This position is located in an Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Connectivity and Collaboration Services (CCS) Division where the incumbent serves as a IT Analyst with full range of duties in developing, delivering, and supporting IT systems and services for the Unified Communications organization.

What You'll Do

  • OIT Mission: The mission of the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) is to collaborate with our business partners to create the best experience for all Veterans.
  • OIT Vision: To become a world-class organization that provides a seamless, unified Veteran experience through the delivery of state-of-the-art technology.
  • Major Duties: Determines the impact and implications in supporting information systems by reviewing directives, policies, programs, enterprise-wide functional user requirements and acquisition strategies for program related issues.
  • Implements, integrates, tests and maintains new system design and test procedures, including software and hardware devices, into existing network architecture; including enhancing traditional telephony, IP telephony and video teleconferencing in support of critical business applications and processes.
  • Displays expert knowledge of the mission and programs of the customer organizations sufficient to provide advice and guidance in dealing with complex IT issues.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations on information gained to senior leadership and interfaces between technical experts and functional users.
  • Develops management strategies and implements plans for new technologies while continuously evaluating the effectiveness of current policies and for accommodation of customer IT needs.

  • Physical Demands: The work is sedentary, but may involve periods of walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving (up to 50 pounds) components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor.
  • Subject to call back outside tour of duty.
  • Work Environment: The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
