What You'll Do

  • You will establish and execute system level testing in support of the TRIDENT II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) early system level integration and virtual testing using hardware, software, and emulators.
  • You will formulate a weapon system level test program in a model-based environment through which virtual SWS Integration/performance testing is accomplished.
  • You will develop, integrate, and implement solutions to diverse, highly complex problems across multiple areas and disciplines.
  • You will oversee the test program as it matures through the addition of Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) testing activities and early pre-production HWIL/Software in the Loop (SWIL) testing at the SWS level.
  • You will develop the SWS Versatile Integrated Test and Analysis Laboratory from concept of operations/ requirements through facility activation and the lifecycle operations.
  • You will prepare and defend budget packages and manage contract actions as required in support of system level test program objectives.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
