You will serve as a F/A-18 AND EA-18G Integrated Product Team (IPT) Chief Engineer (CHENG) in the Air Wing I&I/EW Effects PRD DIR of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for the technical integrity of all IPT products, and serves as the primary technical "conscience" for the IPT.
- →You will act as the technical decision authority for all systems implemented within the F/A-18 and EA-18G IPT and provide Systems Engineering oversight.
- →You will assist the IPT with preparation of budgets assessing technical requirements are adequately captured.
- →You will assist the IPT with setting and maintaining Security Policies and Procedures for the offices and lab spaces to support meeting technical and programmatic mission requirements.
- →You will represent the IPT team and the command at any level, to any audience, on any subject related to tasking assigned to the IPT.
- →You will assist the IPT Lead in the successful execution of technical tasking assigned to the IPT by helping with balancing schedules, resources and emphasizing priorities within IPT tasks and across other NAWCWD projects.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: 0801: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. 1310: A.
- ✓Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.
- ✓Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. 1520: A.
- ✓Degree: mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.
- ✓Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. 1550: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- ✓At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
