This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in the Transmission Project Engineering (TELP) organization of Transmission Lines & Civil Works Engineering (TEL), Transmission Engineering & Technical Services (TE), Transmission Services (T), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). As an interdisciplinary engineer you will serve as a technical specialist in transmission line design, clearance analysis, failure analysis, meteorological investigations, quality assurance and control.
What You'll Do
- →As a Civil Engineer or Mechanical Engineer, you will: Provide expertise and leadership for key technical areas including transmission line design, clearance analysis, failure analysis, meteorological investigations and quality assurance and control (QA/QC) for components of the transmission system.
- →Provide advanced engineering solutions to transmission related conductor hardware and clearance issues to meet construction, maintenance, replacement, and operational needs.
- →Perform sag and tension calculations for analysis and installation of conductor, ground wire, and fiber optic cables with adequate clearances on transmission structures.
- →Coordinate and perform inspection and witnesses design and production tests of transmission line components to insure compliance with BPA technical specifications.
- →Serve as the Engineering technical representative to various teams and organizations that address line/fiber optic hardware QA/QC issues.
- →Provide technical training to other BPA engineers relating to QA/QC processes and procedures.
