About the Role

This position is located in the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), Export Control Directorate. As a recognized expert, the incumbent performs professional engineering or scientific work reviewing and developing coordinated DoD recommendations on international transfers of defense-related goods, services, and technologies to ensure they are consistent with U.S. national security interest.

What You'll Do

  • Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Plans coordinates and carries out projects.
  • Evaluates and interprets license applications, commodity jurisdiction requests, and related submissions.
  • Developing new or improved approaches to analyze, develop, and present authoritative information and analyses.
  • Coordinates major analytical efforts for the resolution of important technology export issues.
  • Participates in and negotiates the DoD position in conferences, meetings, or presentations involving militarily critical technology.

Requirements

  • Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-14/15.
  • BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: You must provide sufficient documentation of your education in your resume.

  • PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
  • GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
  • Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis.
