You will serve as an entry-level/developmental Intelligence Specialist with responsibility to support acoustic intelligence (ACINT) activities for the command. You will perform specific assignments with tailored instructions, close supervision, and guidance. This position is located within the Submarine Warfare Operations Research Division (SWORD) of NIMITZ OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER in Suitland, Maryland.
What You'll Do
- →You will generate reports on the acoustic aspect of tactical events involving foreign submarine forces and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) forces.
- →You will develop and utilize a basic understanding of methods for analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting raw acoustic intelligence (ACINT) data.
- →You will develop a familiarity of basic low frequency analysis and recording (LOFAR) gram analysis, oceanography, and target motion analysis.
- →You will learn how to exploit acoustic data using specialized signal processing and analysis equipment and software.
- →You will participate in developing, tailoring, preparing, and communicating routine acoustic reports and other products that represent the tactical picture of specific events from an acoustic perspective.
- →You will assist with preparing and presenting intelligence briefings to a variety of audiences.
Requirements
- ✓In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GG-07 Successful completion a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
- ✓GG-09 Successful completion of a masters or equivalent graduate degree OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled.
- ✓Education Substitution If you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume.
