Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below for IMPORTANT additional information. The primary purpose of this position is: The Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) is charged with disclosure duties for all functions and subordinate organizations within the USAFE-AFARICA Command.
What You'll Do
- →Formulates and provides foreign disclosure guidance, recommendations, intelligence engagement policy and agreements for the HQ USAFE-AFAFRICA staff and all subordinate units based on US policy interests in accordance with President of the United States (POTUS), DoD and US State Department policy directives, pertaining to European and African engagements.
- →Develops and provides foreign disclosure policy and decisions for all USAFE-AFAFRICA TheaterSecurity Cooperation (TSC) engagements with the SAF/IA, EUCOM, AFRICOM, US Central Command (CENTCOM) and USAFE-AFAFRICA field units.
- →Advises the Command and subordinate units by providing expert interpretation of National Disclosure Policy-1 as it applies to foreign exchange and liaison officers assigned within USAFE-AFAFRICA theaters.
- →Provides expert foreign disclosure advice to USAFE- AFAFRICA's FOIA Program Office.
- →Advises USAFEAFAFRICA/A2 in the downgrading and/or release of formally classified military or official controlled unclassified intelligence information.

- ✓ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.
- ✓This position is in the Excepted Service.
