About the Role

Judicial Security Division in Arlington, VA The selectee of this position serves as a Intelligence Research Specialist. You will be responsible for providing support for threat investigations, assisting with assessing threats, incidents, and inappropriate communications in terms of their degree and nature for referral to investigators for validation.

What You'll Do

  • As a Intelligence Research Specialist at the GS-0132-9/11 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Contacts are made to coordinate intelligence data; to provide technical advice and assistance; to serve as a liaison with other organizations; to make recommendations.
  • Contacts also include participation in meetings, conferences, working groups, and multi-agency initiatives.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, review, and execute online opensource research to proactively identify threats to USMS protective interests and support criminal investigators in threat investigations and protective operations.
  • Supports USMS threat investigations and judicial protection operations by utilizing open-source research techniques and tools to develop, assess, and communicate actionable intelligence to USMS leaders and investigators.
  • Recommending and developing changes to program guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Assignments will become more complex with less Supervision as advancement is made through the career ladder progression to the full performance GS-0132-13 level.

Requirements

  • Must complete an initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s).
  • Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position and is subject to random drug testing.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

  • Citizen or National.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
