About the Role
This vacancy is for a GS - 0132 - 12, INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SECTOR VIRGINIA INTELLIGENCE STAFF in PORTSMOUTH, Virginia.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST and be responsible for collecting, reviewing, evaluating, interpreting, and performing first order analysis of intelligence on all maritime threats in and around the ports and coastal waterways, producing intelligence reports, and disseminating tactical and operational intelligence to the port level operational commander and staff.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Oversees and develops major intelligence partnerships across interagency, including DoW, DHS, DOJ, and local Law Enforcement.
- →Obtains and disseminates intelligence from/across this network utilizing meetings, databases (HSIN, etc), and internal FIR reporting.
- →Obtains open source and finished intelligence to answer priority requirements.
- →Monitors open source/networks for relevant intelligence or information.
- →Analyzes and briefs intelligence to meet needs of operational commander and district commander/subunits.
- →Plans and executes collection operations including consent-based interviews and plainclothes collection.
- →Develops collection plans, identifies targets, and writes/publishes field intelligence reports/analysis detailing results/findings.
- →Analyzes vessel and crew arrivals to identify targets of interest or concern.
- →Disseminates and coordinates arrivals intelligence with USCG elements and interagency partners.
- →Utilizes GIS systems to produce GEOINT and update operator dashboards/tools.
- →Maintains classified systems/information access for command and division.
- →Monitors sensitive intelligence and delivers analysis to command and partners.
