- →This mission of OCIO is to enable delivery of HUD programs, services, and management processes by providing high-quality information technology (IT) solutions and services.
- →The Office of IT Security provides protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information residing on or processed by HUD's automated, midrange and microcomputer systems, personal computer workstations, laptops, local and wide area networks (intranets) and the Internet.
- →As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Serve as a technical authority, providing leadership and expert advice on the development and implementation of information security policies, programs, and procedures to ensure the security and reliability of information systems throughout the organization.
- →Devise and conduct risk assessment programs to identify areas of potential vulnerability in operating systems used throughout the organization.
- →Prioritize and schedule areas to be evaluated and develop assessment criteria.
- →Analyze findings and develop long-range plans for security systems that minimize risks, mitigate vulnerabilities, prevent security incidents, and insure systems reliability.
- →Plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments and develop new methods, approaches and procedures, provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT security issues and interpret IT security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- →Prepare and present complex reports on various subjects.
- →Conduct analyses and recommend resolution of complex issues affecting Security Operations and ensure the integration of IT programs and services.
- →Develop and manage systems that meet current and future business requirements and apply and extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture.
Requirements
- ✓The official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria, Virginia.
- ✓Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
- ✓Key Requirements: Must be U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓A one year probationary period may be required.
- ✓Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9.
