What You'll Do
- →Serving as a Information Technology Specialist (InfoSec) GS-2210-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.
- →This position is located in the Chief Information Technology Directorate.
- →The primary purpose of this position is overseeing the cybersecurity posture for one or more systems throughout the entire lifecycle, providing continuous monitoring through audit log reviews, controlling testing, and auditing remediation tracking; participating in the implementation of cybersecurity controls; and developing and/or reviewing security authorization documents.
- →Typical duties include: Supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process from initiation to completion in accordance with published procedures and coordinating and documenting security authorizations for assigned systems.
- →Developing and reviewing security plans for assigned systems, as well as system security controls for continued implementation in accordance with the agency's Security Plan (SP) and policies.
- →Assessing risk and providing recommendations and guidance to the board chairperson, while providing guidance and input for the development of system operations procedures.
- →Maintaining an inventory of system components (hardware and software) for assigned systems as an element of the SP.
- →Establishing minimum security requirements for a system and ensuring the controls are provided to the appropriate project manager for inclusion in the overall system requirements.
- →Advising cybersecurity stakeholders such as authorizing officials, program managers, system owners, project managers, and systems administrators on cybersecurity issues.
