About the Role

You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (ENTARCH/CUSTPT) in the Cybersecurity Division (N61) of the Meteorology and Oceanography Systems and Infrastructure Department (N6) of NAVAVNFCSTCEN.

What You'll Do

  • You will control and manage the lifecycle of IT service changes, ensuring beneficial transitions with minimal disruption.
  • You will assist in maintaining all four phases of IT portfolio Management (Analyze, Select, Control, Evaluate), promoting standardization across the enterprise.
  • You will review and adhere to relevant federal, DoD, and DON directives governing IT Portfolio Management.
  • You will Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with NAVIFOR Portfolio Managers, participating in routine liaison and Drumbeat teleconferences.
  • You will maintain a collaborative working relationship with the command Accountable Property Officer to facilitate proper General Equipment (GE) management for assigned assets.
  • You will track order statuses and proactively communicate updates to the Chain of Command and end users.
  • You will evaluate requests for Navy Enterprise Services within established authority and budgetary limits, recommending the optimal course of action.
  • You will assist in managing technical refresh cycles, including asset verification, submitting service/task order modifications, and enforcing scheduling/prioritization.

Requirements

  • All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
  • In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience.
  • GS-12: There are no educational substitutions for specialized experience for GS-12.
  • GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D.
  • OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
