As an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist, you will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT communications systems by managing and maintaining a secure communications program implementing policies to protect data and collaborate with stakeholders to address emerging threats.
What You'll Do
- →Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.
- →Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Office of Chief Information Officer and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
- →Maintain accurate secure Communications Security (COMSEC) and Tactical Communications (TACCOM) accountability records, conduct periodic inventories, and ensure proper storage and safeguarding of all COMSEC materials and equipment.
- →Support the execution of established cybersecurity communication processes and provide guidance on policy and best practices to ensure compliance with federal regulations and directives.
- →Perform oversight and management of the Secure Communications program and resources to included (COMSEC) and (TACCOMs) Federal and Contractor staff.
- →Perform regular system health checks, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous availability of classified communication systems.
- →Assess vulnerabilities and gaps in current communications systems related to Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG) scenarios, and develop TACCOM plans and SOPs.
- →Provide and manage secure communication capabilities to support law enforcement activities, including mobile and tactical deployments.

- ✓Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
- ✓EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at GS-13 grade level.
