The Environmental Services Technician performs the full range of manual cleaning tasks (ex: sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, sanitizing, decontaminating and disinfecting) relevant to the facility you are assigned at the Louisville VAMC.
What You'll Do
- →The Environmental Services Technician performs the full range of cleaning tasks requiring use of powered cleaning equipment for proper and efficient accomplishment.
- →Making beds.
- →Changing linens.
- →Collecting soiled linens.
- →Removing, transporting, repackaging, disposing and storing general waste, regulated medical waste, chemotherapeutic waste and radioactive waste.
- →Delivering clean linen and supplies.
- →Checking and replenishing consumable supplies (e.g.: soap, hand towels, toilet tissue, bottled water, latex gloves, etc.) in the course of cleaning and servicing rooms and areas within the Medical Center.
- →Removing, transporting, repackaging, disposing and storing sharps as a part of service rendered to clinics in patient rooms, and may replace filled sharps containers with empty containers.
- →Work Schedule: Full-time, Various shifts will be filled.
- →Will be determined upon selection.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
