About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Assist the pathologist while cutting specimens and makes the proper determination of methods in preparing tissue for microscopic examination.
- →Freeze, cut (cryotomy) and stain tissue for intraoperative rapid diagnosis of cancer in surgical specimens Process and ship surgical cases, special tumor studies and other pathologic specimens needing referral to a specialty lab in a timely manner.
- →Operate the immunohistochemical stainer to produce targeted immunostains.
- →Determine which procedures should be performed manually or mechanically and whether there is a need for special embedding operations.
