About the Role

This National Guard position is for a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1119000 and is part of the UT MEDDET located at Camp Williams with the Utah Army National Guard. The selecting supervisor is CPT Dallin Peterson. IAW UTNGR 690-12 dated AUG 2022, Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTARNG.

What You'll Do

  • This position is located in the Health Services Section of the Military Personnel Office (MILPO) of the Army National Guard (ARNG).
  • The purpose of the position is to administer the state medical health program on a day-to-day basis.
  • MAJOR DUTIES: This is NOT an all-inclusive list.
  • Responsible for scheduling of Soldiers for medical procedures to include, but not limited to Periodic Health Assessments; Chapter 2, 3, 5 physicals, blood draws; immunizations; hearing tests; etc., for the week-day clinic.
  • Coordinates scheduling with clinic staff and other offices.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for handling, update, security, management, and movement of STRs (both hard copy and electronically).
  • Remains current with all ARNG Portals (MODS/MEDCHART) and their respective sub-portals.
  • Maintains working knowledge of any pertinent US Army medical portals.
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly clinic reports for the MEDCOM Commander and in-processing/out-processing reports for the MEDCOM Commander and G1-Medical during SRP/PHA events where medical readiness processing of MACOM Soldiers is conducted.
  • This includes Mobilization SRP/PHA events.
  • Will provide specialized reports to the Commander as requested.
  • Must have good computer skills (Microsoft applications; Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.) Coordinates with the National Guard Bureau (NGB), the Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Tri-Care, U.S.
  • Total Army Personnel Command (PERSCOM), Regional Medical Command, the Military Treatment Facilities, and the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) Liaison Offices located within the state.
  • Serves as the principle advisor to the Chief of the MILPO, as well as to general officer commanders, and personnel on eligibility for health care, sources of health care, medical aspects of physical readiness training and testing, Active Duty Medical Extensions, and LOD investigations.

Requirements

  • Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

  • Military Rank: Enlisted Compatible Military Assignments: 68G, 68W, 68E National Guard Membership is required.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Pending analysis, you may be required to complete a new 1-year probationary period when moved to this position IAW CNGBI 1400.25.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire.
  • Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. .Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
