About the Role
You will serve as a HEALTH SYSTEM SPECIALIST in the Department of the Navy ofUS NMRTC YOKOSUKA JA . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***
What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for developing and implementing of community-based health promotion programs serving all eligible active duty, dependent, retired, and civil service personnel.
- →You will interface with health care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate group and individualized health promotion services.
- →You will develop, implement, teach, health promotion/education classes, seminars, workshops, courses, and informational meetings for clients, healthcare providers, military staff and other resource personnel.
- →You will oversee the day-to-day activities and schedules of one GS 5 level secretary and up to five enlisted corpsman of varying ranks assigned to health promotion.
Requirements
- ✓Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related or Successful completion of an agency-sponsored on-the-job training program may be substituted for qualifying experience, provided it included a formal individualized training plan.

- ✓Additional Information: Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).
- ✓A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.
- ✓ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
- ✓ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application: 1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
