This position is organizationally located within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), South Texas veteran Health Care System (San Antonio) Medical Research Service. The South Texas Veterans Health Care System program supports significant activities in all VA research programs, including those servicing clinical, biological/basic, health systems and rehabilitation research.
What You'll Do
- →***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties include, but are not limited to.
- →Manage IRBNet submissions for research review, ensuring appropriate referral and completeness, and facilitate R&DC meetings.
- →Review investigator activities and ensure expert assignment for protocol evaluations, resolving protocol design issues as needed.
- →Support IRB coordinators and investigators in preparing agendas and presenting data for committee review.
- →Develop, implement, and communicate research policies and procedures in compliance with national and local HRPP guidelines.
- →Maintain and update project tracking databases; conduct program assessments and prepare required reports.
- →Identify program issues and recommend corrective actions, monitoring both program content and financial aspects.
- →Interpret federal and VA regulations, lead the implementation of electronic submission processes, and conduct special audits and reviews for compliance and oversight.
