About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Agency West Network office in San Antonio, TX.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as the key proponent in the establishment and maintenance of Defense Health Network West Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programs.
- →Provide guidance to DHN West on compliance with IPC related rules, regulations, and recommendations from federal, state, and accrediting agencies.
- →Review existing policies and procedures to identify gaps, outdated information, and areas for improvement.
- →Work with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish mission objectives in support of IPC priorities.
- →Respond to medical and dental infection control issues and provide necessary follow up to determine root cause, contributing factors, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- →Guide the development and implementation of activities and practices designed to ensure appropriate surveillance and other measures are taken to identify trends, clusters, and outliers of relevant healthcare–associated infections (HAIs).
- →Participate in risk assessments, including cost/benefit analysis of proposed initiatives for improvement.
