You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Lifting and Handling Technical Division (C710), Lifting and Handling Department (C700) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
What You'll Do
- →You will plan and estimate work to re-activate equipment that has been out of service of extended periods of time, provide feasibility studies on future crane needs, develop crane disposal plans, assist in developing/validating crane financial plans.
- →You will provide Lead Engineer responsibilities in ensuring overall effective and efficient direction, planning, organizing, controlling, and monitoring of Lifting and Handling special projects.
- →You will arrange support required through various shipyard departments and offices and ensure that services are provided by/during the timeframe requested.
- →You will evaluate various types of lifting and handling equipment available to meet the shop requirements.
- →You will manage the entire crane procurement program for the Shipyard.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
