This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Quality Assurance Division. As a General Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, development, direction, execution, and implementation of complex manufacturing and engineering processes, methods, standardization and procedures on plant systems.
What You'll Do
- →The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13.
- →If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- →Assess the capabilities of the United States Mint in terms of engineering skills and time available to undertake work of given scope and nature; provide budgetary input for construction and facility improvements.
- →Monitor spending on facility projects against budgets and submits requests for changes as needed; estimate the costs of all related services needed to effectively execute plant improvements or machinery relocation, installation, and operation.
- →Assure that improvements of buildings and associated equipment meet all applicable state, local, OSHA, EPA, and conservation requirements.
- →Lead teams in continuous improvement projects; ensures that incoming inspection procedures (for raw materials and repair parts) are documented properly and followed in practice.
Requirements
- ✓All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.
- ✓All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period.
- ✓During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated.

- ✓Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service.
- ✓If no certification is made before the probationary (or trial) period ends, your appointment will be terminated.
- ✓You are encouraged to actively engage with your supervisor, seek feedback, and understand role expectations.
- ✓Additional guidance and support will be provided during onboarding.
- ✓Public Trust - Background Investigation may be required.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- ✓Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
