You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS. Initial consideration for this announcement is limited to the number of applications listed at the top of this announcement. What You'll Do
- →You will use a strong background and expertise in directed energy weapons to provide technical oversight and project management of multiple research and development projects.
- →You will apply knowledge of engineering and physical science principles/techniques in accomplishing assigned research and development project technical objectives.
- →You will solve unique technology development problems and resolve challenging programmatic issues.
- →You will review technology development plans for assigned projects and ensure they are submitted within established timeframes.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
