This vacancy is for a GS-0801-12, General Engineer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Force Logistics Center (SFLC), Aging & Cutter Boat Branch in Glen Burnie, MD.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a General Engineer and be responsible for the Surface Force Logistics Center Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs for Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) as well as ordnance and electronics equipment installed on all cutters and boats.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Conducting RCM analysis, feasibility studies, reviews designs and specifications for equipment, materials and methods of retrofit or installation, and develops life cycle cost estimates and life cycle information for engineering projects.
- →Reviewing system designs and documents prepared by consulting engineers for compliance with requirements and recommended revisions.
- →Developing and reviews classical RCM analyses for new and existing systems.
- →Ensuring analysis methodology is in accordance with established standards and procedures and that results provide accurate data and information required to establish General Engineering PD 4 4 4 effective Maintenance Requirements Lists.
- →Executing Coast Guard Maintenance Effectiveness Review (CG MER) programs adhering to RCM principles in all activities.
- →Overseeing selection of appropriate candidate systems for the CG MER process, manages efforts to plan, execute, analyze results and use resulting data to effect improvements in system maintenance and ensure publishing of Maintenance Requirements Lists consistent with Reliability Centered Maintenance principles.
- →Coordinating and conduct technical investigations, such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) or statistical analysis of deficiencies for systems or components and maintenance practices.
