As a Supervisory Engineering Program Manager within the Environmental Engineering and Occupational Health Office, you will lead, plan, execute, and oversee environmental programs for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and Michoud Assembly Facility. You will manage budget and risk, oversee projects and contractors, advise leadership on technical, engineering, schedule, and resource matters, and represent the agency to internal and external stakeholders to support mission success.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as the Center’s expert on environmental policies and regulations; interprets directives and provides technical guidance to leadership, agencies, and industry on compliance and enforcement.
- →Establishes, monitors, and evaluates environmental programs supporting aerospace or aeronautical systems, launch systems, payloads, orbital and sub orbital experimental spacecraft, ground systems, and basic research and development projects.
- →Leads investigations of environmental contamination and oversees the design and operation of remediation and corrective engineering systems for aerospace-related impacts.
- →Develops environmental engineering policy, budgets, and compliance strategies; coordinates with regulators to minimize pollution and ensure mission alignment.
- →Identifies and implements pollution control technologies and environmental engineering systems, including design, construction, and operation of systems supporting compliant aeronautical and aerospace operations.
- →Utilizes engineering principles to analyze and mitigate environmental hazards in aerospace facility and flight systems research, development, and test operations to ensure compliance and protect air, water, soil, and space life system environments.
- →Conducts program reviews and serves on agency boards and working groups; reports environmental program performance to senior leadership.
- →Perform a full range of supervisory duties which include assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
Requirements
- ✓If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
- ✓Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
