About the Role

You will serve as a Cryogenics Support Equipment Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the NAWCAD Lakehurst SE & ALRE Group, Support Equipment Department, Common & Commercial Systems Division, Aviation Systems and Airframe Integrity Support Equipment Branch of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

What You'll Do

  • You will leverage your expertise in cryogenic systems and Support Equipment to develop innovative solutions for maintaining and improving in-service performance, reliability, and safety.
  • You will adapt and apply cryogenics engineering methods, engineering techniques, and related scientific disciplines to solve complex technical challenges.
  • You will execute systems engineering tasks including requirements development for cryogenic support equipment, generating statements of work for maintenance and upgrades, leading teams through System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events.
  • You will review contractor designs for cryogenic support equipment, applying sound engineering principles to ensure compliance with technical requirements, safety standards, and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
