You will serve as a Combat Survivability Engineer in support of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO) leading the development and support of system survivability technologies for the fifth-generation joint strike fighter (JSF) for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, international partners and foreign military sales customers. You will be a General Engineer in the Systems Engineering Department, Combat Survivability Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide support as needed to the F-35 Mission Effectiveness Team.
- →You will coordinate with other agency platforms to ensure alignment and sharing of lessons learned and technologies across the joint force.
- →You will provide radio frequency and infrared survivability data and expertise to outside organizations such as tactics developers and modeling and simulation organizations.
- →You will plan and coordinate test and simulation events along with managing technical projects to improve the mission performance of the F-35.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
