You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Fleet Support Team (FST) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as F/A-18A-F and EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) Leader at the FRCSW, heading a large and diverse team of engineers, scientists, technicians, logisticians, and Business Financial Managers.
- →You will serve as final authority on planning, review, and evaluation of work and be fully responsible and accountable for the execution, and effectiveness, of the in-service support program.
- →You will direct trade studies and continuous process improvement initiatives to identify and evaluate alternative technical approaches and assess process efficiencies to resolve issues.
- →You will develop program planning objectives and management strategies for current and long-range (5 to 10 year) program tasks.
- →You will evaluate the impact of fluctuations in resource levels such as budget changes, and updates to estimates of resource requirements due to new or revised objectives, technical capabilities, acquisition strategies, etc.
- →You will direct the development of contract engineering specifications, which define support requirements and parameters, and direct the development of Procurement Requests, Request for Proposals, etc.
- →You will measure progress toward, and determine the soundness of objectives in established projects and define needs and develop objectives and resource requirements for new projects.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
