This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO), Facilities and Operational Support. The primary purpose of this position is to support the consolidation of the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters (HQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
What You'll Do
- →As a General Engineer, GS-0801-13/14, your typical work assignments may include: Plan and oversee agency-wide strategic initiatives to determine future facility requirements for incorporation into the DHS NCR Housing Master Plan.
- →Serve as an expert advisor on all aspects of facility planning, design, and construction engineering, ensuring consideration of all engineering disciplines and providing authoritative guidance and recommendations.
- →Lead and oversee major building programs and high-profile agency projects, including program administration in areas such as real property master planning, building construction and alterations, and information technology systems.
- →Analyze and assess contractor effectiveness, including monitoring contract performance, reviewing proposals, resolving issues, and evaluating contractor compliance with operational and contract requirements.
- →Develop and evaluate policies and procedures for facility planning, design, construction, and management, and provide agency-wide guidance on innovative methods to address evolving agency needs.
