About the Role

Serve as a Flow and Crew & Service Module Lead with the Orion Program, for Orion Productions Operations (OPO). You will be responsible for insight and oversight of Orion spacecraft assembly, integration, and production (AI&P) operations in support of a specific Artemis mission. You will manage the internal OPO certification of flight readiness process for the as-built spacecraft and perform assessments of spacecraft technical, and schedule risk and AI&P performance.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Prime Contractor to achieve technical and schedule performance commitments for Orion spacecraft assembly, integration, and production for a specific Artemis mission from hardware delivery through NASA acceptance of the spacecraft.
  • Collaborate with the Orion Program Vehicle Manager for a specific Artemis mission concerning requests for Orion spacecraft assembly, integration, and production details and/or assessments of production schedules, risks, and flight hardware issues.
  • Coordinate with international partners to integrate European Service Module (ESM) activities in the spacecraft production flow including the incorporation of ESM tasks into the production schedule and organization of contractor and/or NASA resources.
  • Manage the internal Certification of Flight Readiness review process of Orion spacecraft assembly, integration, and production for a specific Artemis mission; evaluate technical data/evidence; and produce reports for endorsement of the spacecraft.
  • Analyze production flow for schedule and technical risks and opportunities, conflicts among spacecraft/module flows, and performance metrics to project impacts, initiate mitigations, and influence process improvements for spacecraft producibility.
  • Collaborate with office Flow Leads on potential spacecraft/module assembly, integration, and production conflicts lessons learned across missions; and with internal stakeholders to evaluate assembly and schedule performance, risks, and mitigations.
  • Coordinate spaceflight assembly activities, flight hardware issues, and safety/quality concerns with Orion Productions Operations Engineering and Safety and Mission Assurance.
  • Engage other Orion program/technical authority personnel as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of and/or witness daily Orion spaceflight production activities.
  • Provide daily status and weekly report on progress to Orion Productions Operations and Orion Program management.

Requirements

  • If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
  • Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
