About the Role

Serves as the European Service Module (ESM) Integration Lead with the Orion Program, Orion Production Operations (OPO), you will be responsible for insight and oversight of ESM integration and test activities during Orion spacecraft production. You will coordinate and collaborate with Orion Program, European Space Agency, and Prime Contractor personnel to ensure integration progress and to meet schedule and technical objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as Orion Lead for the European Service Module (ESM) Integration Readiness Review (IRR), ensures the ESM and Crew Module Adapter are ready to be assembled and integrated and actions blocking integration from the ESM Pre-Ship Review are closed.
  • Collaborate with International Partners to accomplish ESM integration including incorporation of ESM tasks into Orion production schedules, submittal of engineering support requests, and organization of contractor and/or NASA resources.
  • Partner with International Partner and contractor campaign managers to achieve technical and schedule performance commitments during ESM integration into the Orion spacecraft.
  • Integrate contributions from NASA, International Partners, and contractors to ensure ESM interfaces with Orion spacecraft systems and integration and test operations are executed on schedule and in compliance with technical and safety standards.
  • Engage with other Orion program offices and technical authority personnel as needed for ESM assembly, integration, and test activities and flight hardware issues.
  • Manage MPCV 72580: Orion MPCV - ESM Sustaining Engineering Plan which defines engineering support provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) Prime Contractor for integration and test activities involving the ESM.
  • Maintain awareness of and/or witness daily ESM integration activities and provide daily status to the ESM Integration Office (EIO) and present major integration issues to OPO, EIO, and Orion Program management.

Requirements

  • If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
  • Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
