About the Role

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), East Granby, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel, assigned to the 103d Airlift Wing of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members, assigned to the 103d Airlift Wing of the Connecticut Air National Guard.

What You'll Do

  • Position to be filled upon the vacancy of the incumbent.
  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
  • The major duties include, but are not limited to: Organizes, administers and evaluates a segment of the fuels quality assurance program for the organization.
  • Directs, inspects, operates and maintains a complete fuels distribution system(s) to receive, store, transfer and issue both aviation and ground fuels.
  • Operates one or more types of special purpose design aviation and ground fuel tank truck vehicles having a capacity of up to 6,000 gallons and gross vehicle weight of 70,000 pounds used for fueling/defueling various types of aircraft and ground fuels applications such as AGE, power production, heating and engine test cells.
  • Operates, inspects and performs all required maintenance and repair on 400-5,000 gallon cryogenic storage tanks.
  • Ensures responsibilities for product compliance inspections of all petroleum activities.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside, to include inclement weather, on icy, wet, and slippery ramps and work-stands in temperature and humidity extremes.
  • Work areas may be drafty, noisy, and have toxic fumes present.
  • Irritants such as aircraft fluids, dirt, grease, dust, paint and solvent may be present.
  • Exposure to cuts, burns, strains, and broken bones exists.
