THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: Surface Maintenance Office (SMO), Windsor Locks, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →This is an indefinite position that may convert to permanent without further competition.
- →JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide instruction and assistance to state unit personnel regarding Army National Guard (ARNG) equipment and maintenance management.
- →Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methods of equipment maintenance and management of a variety of ARNG equipment is required.
- →NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- →This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard.
- →The major duties include, but are not limited to: Serves as a recognized authority on the repair and operation of various types of ARNG equipment.
- →Provides advice, assistance, and guidance regarding maintenance management systems, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices in maintenance facilities.
- →Prepares and conducts both classroom and on-the-job training designed to upgrade, improve, and/or update the knowledge and working skills of unit maintenance personnel.
- →Evaluates directives to ensure adherence to standard methods, conformity in maintenance procedures, and the proper use of maintenance equipment, facilities, and personnel.
- →Reviews the effectiveness and efficiency of equipment and maintenance management and needs for improvement of existing practices and the impact on the overall maintenance program.
