You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the Submarine Piping and Mechanical Branch (Code 265) in the Fluid/Mechanical Engineering and Planning Division (Code 260) of the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide technical guidance and technical leadership for all project specifications, design calculations, working plan development, and surveillance.
- →You will prepare technical work documents in the form of Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions, Deficiency Logs, and Deficiency Reports.
- →You will evaluate the cost in days required to prepare each plan or other design package.
- →You will provide technical guidance for the checking of technical work documents and material specifications, and other documents conformity with the specification and quality requirements.
- →You will analyze reports submitted by the shops as a result of test and examination of equipment for repairs.
- →You will review the completed test results on systems under your cognizance and make the determination of the adequacy of the results.
