You will serve as a ENGINEER in the TEST AND EVALUATION DEPARTMENT, FLEET WARFIGHTING READINESS AND OPERATIONS DIVISION, UNDERSEA WARFARE SHIP TEST AND EVALUATION BRANCH of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
What You'll Do
- →You will plan, coordinate, and execute testing for Undersea Warfare (USW) combat systems.
- →You will analyze and report on the performance of USW components on Navy Destroyers and Cruisers.
- →You will verify and validate the correct installation of combat and weapon systems on individual ships.
- →You will ensure systems can be safely and effectively operated and maintained by ship personnel.
- →You will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers, scientists, and technical staff.
- →You will brief ship's senior personnel on the results of system testing and evaluation.
- →You will develop written plans and presentations on project status, problems, and milestones.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓For the ND-03 position, in lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree; OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
