About the Role
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. You will serve as an Engineer in the Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare Department, Platform Protection & Countermeasures Technologies Division (Code WXR) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division.
What You'll Do
- →You will champion the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes across all facets of the Platform Protection and Countermeasures Technologies Division workload and instill technical rigor and discipline throughout the Division.
- →You will serve as the Platform Protection and Countermeasures Technologies Division liaison with the NSWC Crane Chief Engineer regarding technical rigor and discipline.
- →You will serve as the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding the implementation and execution of SETR processes within the Division, requiring collaboration with other SETR leads across the NSWC Crane enterprise.
- →You will collaborate with other Division chief scientists to identify and execute process improvement initiatives to promote process efficiencies and implementation of common methods throughout the organization.
- →You will mentor personnel to ensure knowledge transfer and skills development.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
