This position is located in the Security Branch and is responsible for planning and administering physical security, personnel security, suitability, and continuity of operations across the Agency, including headquarters and field offices. The position supports a comprehensive program focused on strengthening security and resilience through planning, training, and exercises to ensure the Agency can prepare for, prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from emergency incidents.
What You'll Do
- →As a, Emergency Management Specialist (COOP) (Continuity of Operations Manager), GS- 0089-13, your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an expert planner, coordinator, and advisor on agency policy regarding Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP).
- →Gathers information, identifies and analyzes issues, and develops recommendations to resolve substantive problems related to continuity planning.
- →Develops continuity strategies utilizing resources provided by DHS and FEMA to ensure the Agency meets required standards.
- →Plans, develops, and conducts training, workshops, and exercises to test emergency and contingency plans and procedures.
- →Provides oversight, guidance, and instruction to field offices and represents the Agency at Federal and State exercises and conferences.
