What You'll Do
- →As an Electronics Engineer (Industrial Controls) you will be responsible for the following duties (If selected at the GS-07/09/11 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity): Provides engineering support and assistance to the journeyman engineers on specific limited portions of an overall project.
- →Research information, makes suggestions, and develops an assigned portion of a project.
- →Makes telephone calls to personnel to obtain information, to discuss problems, obtain concurrence, and may initiate correspondence requesting additional information or back-up material about the equipment usage.
- →Reviews part data such as drawings, schematics, etc., to detect usage trends of new parts selected for equipment design; Makes recommendations from information obtained, for initiation of proposed standardization projects.
- →Keeps informed of developments in technology and familiarizes themselves with programs, projects, and functions of the organization as well as engineering manuals and procedures pertinent to each job assignment.
- →As an observer, attends joint military-industry and Inter-Agency specification and standardization meetings to become informed about the conduct of same and the type of information to be furnished and to be obtained.
- →Assists technical spokespersons at meetings as requested and may make oral presentations of the portion of assigned projects.
