The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Senior Engineer and Advisor to the Group Commander; oversees and supervises the execution of cyberspace policies, missions, and functions. Provides professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation.
What You'll Do
- →DUTY 1: Directs the development and documentation of operational concepts and strategies for assigned programs/projects such as cyber intrusion damage assessments and triage analysis of very complex data sets related to cyber intrusions.
- →DUTY 2: As a recognized cyber/electronics engineering expert provides technical guidance, advisory support, and lead and assistance on projects and/or major phases for broad and varied operations.
- →DUTY 3: Lead technical representative to Air Staff personnel in the areas of programming, budgeting, and execution of AF-level cyber programs.
- →Represents HQ USAF on Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)level command boards, panels, and committees dealing with resource plans, programming and budget allocation actions of scientific and engineering efforts.
- →DUTY 4: Oversees, leads and directs preparation then reviews/approves full spectrum contracting documents and leads activities such as Acquisition Strategy Plans, Market Research, Requirements Approval Documentation, Statements of Work (SOWs), Statements of Need (SONs), and Technical Assistance Guides (T AGs), as well as Source Selection Evaluations.
- →DUTY 5: Directs and/or participates as a subject matter expert in Technical Review Boards, various advisory committees, conducted to review technology requirements, procedures, findings and results of major taskings and projects.
Requirements
- ✓CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- ✓A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- ✓Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
- ✓Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- ✓Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- ✓Must have a professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET-accredited institution in Electronics Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is highly desired.
- ✓A master's degree in a related field is highly desired.
- ✓AF cyber weapon system experience is highly desired and Joint information environment (JIE) or Joint Regional Security stack (JRSS) experience is highly desired.
- ✓The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- ✓This position is Acquisition Category Engineering Level III and incumbent must meet appropriate certification requirements IA W the Defense Acquisition Workforce Act (DA WIA) no later than 24 months after accepting this position.
- ✓Financial Disclosure: Incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- ✓Key: This is a key position.
- ✓Incumbents must be removed from any military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
