The Kennedy Space Center Office of the Chief Information Officer is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as the KSC Center IT Chief Engineer. This position provides senior technical authority and engineering leadership for all KSC IT and Communication systems, representing the KSC CIO on Center and Agency technical boards and ensuring these capabilities meet mission, operational, institutional, and future readiness needs.
What You'll Do
- →Provide technical leadership and authoritative engineering oversight for all Kennedy Space Center (KSC) unique Mission Information Technology (IT) systems and KSC IT and Communication development projects.
- →Serve as the KSC Chief Information Officer's (CIO) technical representative in mission support boards, engineering reviews, and technical integration forums.
- →Ensure compliance of KSC IT and Communication systems with NASA Agency, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and development and operational standards, engineering requirements, and programmatic directives.
- →Provide engineering technical expertise in the development, implementation, testing, and operation of KSC IT and Communication systems ensuring alignment with enterprise innovation, modernization, and mission assurance objectives.
- →Provide technical leadership for coordination of KSC IT and Communication systems readiness and mission support for launch and flight operations.
- →Provide oversight for future KSC CIO IT and Communication architecture definition and drive technical innovation to meet emerging OCIO, KSC CIO, and mission needs.
- →Serve as a technical subject matter expert on KSC IT and Communication systems for mission requirements and operational needs.
Requirements
- ✓If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
- ✓Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
- ✓Engineering degrees earned within the United States: Engineering degrees earned within the United States must be from a college or university that has at least one ABET accredited engineering program.
