About the Role
This Senior Executive Service (SES) position is in the Office of Land and Emergency Management, Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery, Waste Identification, Notice, and Generators Division. About OLEM. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.
What You'll Do
- →The Waste Identification, Notice, and Generators Division (WINGD) is responsible for developing, conducting research, and implementation of regulations and guidance for the management of coal combustion residuals (CCR) and other industrial wastes.
- →The division also develops, conducts research, and implements regulations and guidance governing hazardous waste generation, exclusions, and the definition of solid waste.
- →WINGD serves as the lead for all issues pertaining to the movement of waste in and out of the country, as well as global engagement on international waste issues.
- →Assessing needs, defining goals, developing program plans, establishing the organizational structure of WINGD, delegating authority and responsibility, and establishing overall WINGD operating policies, priorities, and procedures.
- →Coordinating WINGD activities with representatives of foreign, State, and municipal governments with other Federal agencies, industry, academia and private organizations having a mutual interest or responsibility with the program area assigned to the WINGD.
- →Ensuring that extramural resources, both procurement (contracts) and assistance (grants, cooperative agreements and interagency agreements), are efficiently and appropriately managed to maximize use of the Agency's resources.
- →Supervising a large staff of employees organized into units headed by subordinate managers and supervisors.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓If you are selected, you must complete a 1-year SES probationary period, if not previously completed.
- ✓The Ethics in Government Act, P.L. 95-521, requires the applicant selected for this position to submit a financial disclosure statement, OGE-278, prior to assuming the SES position, annually, and upon termination of employment.
