The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) provides the infrastructure and support that enables the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to perform its mission. OASAM provides leadership and support for information technology, human resources management, procurement, business operations, safety and health, space management, civil rights, emergency management, security, budget, and performance.
What You'll Do
- →The position is located within the Business Operations Center (BOC), Office of Real and Personal Property (ORPP).
- →The employee reports to the Deputy Director of BOC and has primary responsibility for policy development and the operations and management of the ORPP's Space Management, Real Property and Personal Property, and other related functions.
- →Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Manage and oversee the disposal program, ensuring compliance with federal property regulations and coordinating all property inventory activities.
- →Plan, develop, and deliver training to agency personal property managers on property management policies, procedures, and disposal requirements.
- →Direct the development of contract specifications for leases and agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and supporting effective execution and administration.
- →Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to monitor contractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.
- →Review and evaluate contractor deliverables and performance to determine and approve or disapprove payments in accordance with contract terms.
- →Develop and manage the annual property management budget, assessing program requirements to determine and justify financial resource needs.
- →Analyze statutory and regulatory changes to reallocate funds as necessary, ensuring effective use of resources and continued program compliance.
- →Plan, coordinate, direct, and oversee a comprehensive Department-wide property management program encompassing real and personal property (including fleet management), interior design, and space/workplace management, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with applicable regulations.
- →Lead the development, analysis, and synthesis of data to produce high-quality written products that support program objectives and decision-making.
- →Translate complex technical and programmatic information into clear, concise, and well-structured documents tailored to diverse audiences.
- →Review and ensure all written communications are accurate, evidence-based, and aligned with organizational priorities, federal policies, and Plain Language standards.
