This Senior Executive Service (SES) position is in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Mission Critical Operations. About OCSPP. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).
What You'll Do
- →The Office of Mission Critical Operations (OMCO) is responsible for supporting OCSPP administrative and research programs, including budget, financial management, human resources, information technology, and information management.
- →OMCO is also responsible for providing program support services related to rulemaking, peer review, data life cycle, risk assessment assistance through research efforts, and communications.
- →OMCO coordinates OCSPP's engagement with international organizations and collaboration with other EPA office and federal agencies on international matters.
- →Specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Planning, developing, organizing, directing, and implementing major programs for which the incumbent is assigned Agency-wide responsibility.
- →Directing and managing the programs, resources and staff assigned, including developing plans, preparing the office budget for submission, establishing internal operating policies and procedures, allocating resources, and evaluating work.
- →Directing the development, analysis, coordination, and implementation of OCSPP administrative management programs including financial management, information technology oversight, communications, grants and contracts, personnel, management analysis, facilities, and support services.
- →Providing leadership in the delivery of information technology services to OCSPP, including working to transform organizational databases to meet data management and records management needs.
- →Advising and coordinating the scientific research and analysis to support risk management regulatory policies that impact human health and the environment.
- →Supervising a large staff of employees organized into units headed by subordinate managers and supervisors.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓If you are selected, you must complete a 1-year SES probationary period, if not previously completed.
- ✓The Ethics in Government Act, P.L. 95-521, requires the applicant selected for this position to submit a financial disclosure statement, OGE-278, prior to assuming the SES position, annually, and upon termination of employment.
- ✓REAL ID requirements became effective on 05/07/25.
- ✓You will receive information about alternative acceptable documents (e.g., passport) prior to onboarding.

- ✓This position is designated as High Risk and requires a background investigation.
- ✓Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
