This position is located in the Department of Labor-Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations-Labor Racketeering and Fraud. The Office of Investigations (OI) conducts criminal investigations relating to programs and operations of the Department of Labor in order to prevent and detect fraud, abuse, corruption, and violations of federal law affecting DOL programs and the American workforce.
What You'll Do
- →This position is an expert technical advisor and senior administrator to top agency officials on a broad range of administrative systems and services including budgetary and financial management, procurement, organizational planning/evaluation, records management, administrative support, etc.
- →Additionally, the incumbent serves as the supervisor of administrative and program management support staff within the agency.
- →Due to the nature, mission, and function of the Agency, the incumbent handles highly complex, controversial, and sensitive issues.
- →Provides leadership and direction to Office of Investigation's (OI) programs in the formulation and execution of the budget process.
- →Continually reviews financial status throughout the year making decisions on expenditures of any unusual nature, realignment or priorities, and those outside approved budget plans.
- →Direct and oversees the formulation and justification of the budget.
- →Responsible for programming and annual budgeting submissions and ensuring program accomplishments are within budget allocations.
- →Makes recommendations for budget adjustments.
- →Serves as staff advisor to the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIGI) and executive staff and program managers guiding the formulation and implementation of viable strategic plans, measurement tools, and accountability processes.
- →Assumes a leading role in the development and implementation of strategic plans and options necessary for executive planning and execution.
- →Directs and oversees the OI procurement, including the implementation and dissemination of policies, procedures, and program guidance.
- →Responsible for promoting management efficiency, effectiveness, and economy per OIG and Departmental policies, regulations, standards, and mission.
- →Coordinates the preparation of procurement and contract services, proposals, reports, and memoranda, which cross organizational lines or do not fall within the functional province of any one office.
- →Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of professional, technical, clerical, and/or administrative work to carry out the mission of the organization.
Requirements
- ✓There is no substitution of education for the required specialized experience at the GS-15 level.
