About the Role
This Senior Executive Service (SES) position is in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Pesticide Programs, Antimicrobials Division. About OCSPP. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).
What You'll Do
- →AD serves as the primary point of contact for assigned pesticides for all regulatory and other customer inquiries.
- →In its decision making for antimicrobial pesticides, the Antimicrobials Division applies principles of risk reduction, incorporating appropriately the principles of safer pesticides, and negotiating risk-reduction strategies with registrants, state officials, and others.
- →AD coordinates with the other Office of Pesticide Programs divisions with related functions to ensure consistency of regulatory and scientific practice, and consistency and quality of assessment methods.
- →Assessing needs, defining goals, developing program plans, establishing the organizational structure of AD, delegating authority and responsibility, and establishing overall AD operating policies, priorities, and procedures.
- →Coordinating AD activities with related or interdependent efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
- →Ensuring that extramural resources, both procurement (contracts) and assistance (grants, cooperative agreements and interagency agreements), are efficiently and appropriately managed to maximize use of the Agency's resources.
- →Supervising a large staff of employees organized into units headed by subordinate managers and supervisors.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓If you are selected, you must complete a 1-year SES probationary period, if not previously completed.
- ✓The Ethics in Government Act, P.L. 95-521, requires the applicant selected for this position to submit a financial disclosure statement, OGE-278, prior to assuming the SES position, annually, and upon termination of employment.
