What You'll Do
- →ABOUT THE POSITION The Director of the National Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Public Health Infrastructure and Workforce (PHIC) provides executive leadership and scientific expertise to advance national public health infrastructure, workforce development, and data modernization efforts across federal, state, tribal, local, and territorial public health systems.
- →The incumbent serves as a principal advisor to CDC leadership, guiding the development of strategies, policies, and initiatives that strengthen public health system performance, workforce capacity, organizational resilience, and data-driven decision-making.
- →The position leads complex national initiatives and promotes innovative, evidence-based approaches to improve public health services and infrastructure.
- →The Director collaborates extensively with senior leaders, public health agencies, academic institutions, and national partners to advance public health priorities and ensure alignment with emerging public health challenges.
- →The incumbent represents the Center and CDC on matters of national significance, providing expert consultation, strategic guidance, and high-level communications to government officials, stakeholders, and the public.
- →The role also oversees organizational priorities, resource management, and staff development while fostering a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
