The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) is seeking a dynamic, results driven Deputy Chief Strategy Officer to help lead the agency's strategic planning process, internal directive development, emerging capability assessment, program management and acquisitions, and enterprise governance in support of the agency's protective and investigative missions.
What You'll Do
- →The primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee the full range of planning and management functions required to support the USSS's long-range strategic planning and analysis activities by assisting the CSO in assessing the agency's capabilities in relation to anticipated long-term operational challenges and threats.
- →Your analysis informs the strategic planning process and serves as the foundation for investment justifications to enhance organizational capabilities.
- →Serve as the technical expert for the USSS on the development of short- and long-range program planning to maintain and improve overall USSS operational and organizational effectiveness.
- →Identify critical problem areas in agency-wide strategic operations, initiate and oversees comprehensive studies of mission support and operations activities, and present well-documented recommendations for major program or directive changes.
- →Oversee program baselines, document key performance parameters, and ensure compliance with Department of Homeland Security and USSS policies for performance assessment and documentation requirements, as well as supervise major acquisition processes, ensuring that tailored approaches, documentation, and timeliness of deliveries meet established standards.
- →Participate in meetings with USSS executive staff and representatives from staff agencies and industry to determine data governance, records, and analytic program status, major milestones, and coordination of each to detect in advance potential slippage or increased costs and to determine what action is required to maintain or improve program schedules.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship is required.
- ✓Subject to a 1-year SES probationary period (unless already completed).
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with https://www.sss.gov/verify/ or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Subject to a drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
- ✓Must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
- ✓Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
