About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO), Procurement Innovation Lab (PIL). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a PIL Coach in a non-operational contract specialist role. The mission of the Procurement Innovation Lab is to foster a culture of procurement excellence across DHS where smart risk-taking and innovation assure DHS mission success. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
What You'll Do
- →Leading or supporting strategic procurement innovation initiatives as well as developing and providing instruction at procurement innovation training events such as webinars and workshops on a recurring basis.
- →Providing expert guidance to lower-graded procurement innovation coaches, contract specialists, program offices, field offices and user functions regarding all aspects of Department procurements.
- →Training the procurement team as they learn and test new methods to evaluate proposals and document consensus evaluation reports, negotiate costs/prices and terms and conditions with offerers/contractors, and prepare award documentation, within applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements
- ✓This position requires specific coursework to meet the basic education requirement.
